The CHANGE Health Community Project combines physician leadership, a range of health professionals, expertise from the University of Alberta and key community stakeholders, promoting customized, wellness focused health care (rather than the current disease care). CHANGE Health will support families in developing the motivation, knowledge, skills and confidence to improve their health. The CHANGE Health Programs will focus on the protection and improvement of health through evidence-based programming focused on nutrition, physical activity, nature and positive social connections.

The student will work with the research team, consisting of program coordinators, exercise specialists and dieticians, to evaluate of the CHANGE Health Community Program. This project will include attending the program, collecting data, performing some data entry and analyzing the quantitative and qualitative data collected in the evaluation process. The student will learn research skills related to consent, ethics and the use of databases with REDCAP, as well as Google Suite and Microsoft Office.
